Objective

SixStarCruises, a leading name in the luxury cruise sector, approached us with a clear goal: to significantly increase their visibility in organic search, particularly for non-branded queries, and drive more high-intent traffic to their site. The first quarter of the year is very important for the travel industry. Interest in the sector rises significantly every year from Q4 to Q1, with interest in ‘luxury cruises’ in particular leaping from 198K of worldwide search demand in Q4 2024 to 236K in Q4 2025.

With competition in the cruise space at an all-time high to secure this traffic, SixStarCruises needed a strategic SEO partner who could help them not just keep up but stand out. House Digital already worked with SixStarCruises’s sister site, Cruise118, which was seeing incredible results, and SixStarCruises wanted the same five-star treatment!

Our challenge was to grow their keyword footprint, improve rankings for commercially valuable terms, and ultimately boost both traffic and conversions from organic channels.

What We Did

Our strategy to drive more high-intent traffic to the SixStarCruises site involved:

    • A focus on building out the brand’s commercial keyword profile.
    • Deep-diving into the biggest trends in the sector and identifying the best search opportunities.
    • Creating enriched content that would answer any and all questions around the luxury cruise space.

SEO Strategy & Content

Our approach began with a full review of their category structure, leading to the introduction and enhancement of dedicated category pages across the site. We created new, fully optimised meta and on-page content for these pages, with a strong emphasis on commercial keywords aligned with how users search when they’re ready to book. 

Using trend-led industry data and developing a solid tone of voice for the brand to appeal to broader audiences, we mapped out priority pages to create fresh content for, capitalising on the biggest 2025 search opportunities by creating trend-led content that conveyed that luxury cruise holidays are for everyone to enjoy. Our main focus was to enrich each page by adding invaluable bottom copy that aimed to answer any and all of the audience’s queries, concerns, or demands for inspiration.

A customer coming to the SixStarCruises site today will have all the information that they could ever need to make an informed decision and book the luxury cruise of their dreams. SixStarCruises has been transformed from a site with a lot of cruises and little information to a helpful, content-rich space selling the luxury cruise experience down to the smallest of details, all in all, aiding the customer experience and increasing the likelihood of appearing in AI Overviews and Featured Snippets.

Technical SEO

This was all supported by technical SEO work focused on improving page performance and addressing Core Web Vitals to ensure both users and search engines had a fast, seamless experience.

Results

The impact was considerable. YOY non-branded traffic in Q1 2025 increased by +89%, and we managed to secure 319 featured snippets and AI overviews along the way!

Not only this, but the number of page 1 keyword rankings surged by +82%, with position 1-3 rankings climbing by +50%.

Non-branded clicks during Q1 soared by +27% and impressions by +28% YoY. By aligning technical improvements with customer-centric, trend-led content and a data-led SEO strategy, we’ve helped SixStarCruises chart a new course towards sustained organic growth.
