What We Did

North West sustainable grocery delivery service Modern Milkman were referred to us after our fantastic work over at tastecard and Forever Unique. After a thorough and extensive audit, House Digital identified that Modern Milkman were suffering a significant decline in organic impressions and sessions, losing out to competitors on the SERPs. The ultimate goal was to strengthen the brand’s organic channel and build SERP visibility and market share through targeted SEO and digital PR strategies and by boosting their backlink profile.

Another key aim was to achieve an optimal channel mix and scale up new customer acquisition. We set out to create a failproof long-form content strategy to provide helpful, authoritative, and people-first content to those searching for tasty recipes and high-quality groceries delivered sustainably to their doors.

The incredible results experienced by Modern Milkman include a 62% increase in non-branded keyword rankings on page 1, including securing position 1 for ‘milk delivery’ – the ultimate target that we were challenged with! Focusing on ‘milk’ as a key theme, our SEO efforts resulted in a 150% increase in sessions to milk-related products and services in under 12 months.



The end-to-end long-form content strategy we created and implemented has also seen impressive results for Modern Milkman including a surge in keyword rankings on page 1 for the blog by 1661% over a 9-month period alongside a growth in sessions from 9k to 18.2k, an increase of 102%.

We were also thrilled to generate a huge amount of high-quality external links, as well as successfully managing the brand’s migration to a new tech stack, ensuring all SEO equity and visibility were maintained.
