Thanks to our robust organic strategies, Modern Milkman exceeded all competitors in terms of keyword visibility and estimated monthly organic sessions as well as increasing their monthly revenue by almost £200k!
Objective
North West sustainable grocery delivery service Modern Milkman were referred to us after our fantastic work over at tastecard and Forever Unique. After a thorough and extensive audit, we identified that Modern Milkman were suffering a significant decline in Organic impressions and sessions, losing out to competitors on the SERPs.
The ultimate goal was to strengthen the brand’s Organic channel and build SERP visibility and market share. Another key aim was to achieve an optimal channel mix and scale up new customer acquisition.

What We Did
We set out to create targeted SEO and digital PR strategies to improve SERP visibility and boost the brand’s backlink profile. One of our achievements was the creation of a failproof long-form content strategy to provide helpful, authoritative, and people-first content to those searching for tasty recipes and high-quality groceries delivered sustainably to their doors. This saw a surge in keyword rankings on page 1 for the blog by 1,661% over a 9-month period alongside a growth in sessions from 9k to 18.2k, an increase of 102%.
The incredible results experienced by Modern Milkman also include a 62% increase in non-branded keyword rankings on page 1, including securing position 1 for ‘milk delivery’ – the ultimate target that we were challenged with! Focusing on ‘milk’ as a key theme, our SEO efforts resulted in a 150% increase in sessions to milk-related products and services in under 12 months.

We were also thrilled to generate a huge amount of high-quality external links, equating to a 57% increase in Referring Domains of DR30+.
As if that wasn’t enough, we successfully managed the brand’s migration to a new tech stack, ensuring all of the SEO equity and visibility we had gained were maintained.
Fantastic SEO results are one thing, but what about client acquisition and ROI? Well, we certainly delivered there too! We took user sign-ups from 1k per month to just under 2k, a huge increase of 99%, following the implementation of our organic strategies. That’s the equivalent of almost £200k in revenue per month with ROI increasing from 29 to 57!
